🎫 My participation at the Nantes Maker Campus, an annual event with SoftTribe

July 12, 2021

Two weeks ago I took part in the Nantes maker campus with Elektro Funky (softTribe, https://4ndr31.wixsite.com/modular-fiddle). It was a great event for all tech lover and the curious.

In fact, it is an annual event to promote DIY and the maker movement in Nantes.

We showcased personal projects made with love using 3D printer technology and other electronic stuff.

How does an 8-bit processor work with an Intel architecture for example? Maybe this seems like a pointless or old-fashioned question, but… Hardware technologies are not yet totally dead in the new era of IOT. Of course, the old flashing electronic cards delighted young and old.

We shared our passion for “old school” computers and electronics with the curious in a spirit of sharing and sympathy. I was a baby in the 80s but I know today that I would certainly have bought a ZX SPECTRUM, this fantastic machine that softribe has redesigned and improved with a mechanical keyboard just for the sake of seeing it work again.

a redesigned ZX Spectrum

Thanks to the sense of pedagogy and the curiosity of my friend and also shared by the other makers who participated I had a good time …
